MORPHOTAXONOMY OF THREE NEW ACANTHOCEPHALAN PARASITES OF FISHES CULTIVATED IN JHARKHAND STATE.
PANDEY, D. P., CHOUDHARY M. K.*
Abstract
Fish industry of the Jharkhand is suffering from biomass loss of the cultivated fish due to endemic cultural practices. The acanthecephalan parasites are the main parasite which has found its ecological habitat in the gut of the cultivated fish. There are 12 morphotaxonomic species identified in this study. These were Pallisentis amini, P. meyeri, P. Ranchiensis, P. Daltonganensis, P. anadai, P. Ratuensis, P. Dorandaensis, P. Jamshedpurensis, P. Kankensis, Acanthosentis Ormanjhiensis, A. seenghalae and Neoechinorhynchinus Dighaensis. Out of these three new species namely Acanthosentis Ormanjhiensis, Pallisentisnkensis and Tenuiproboscis epinephelusencis gopalpur at seaensis n.sp. has been reported.
